Scott Wang (Renaissance Marketer)

Scott Wang identifies as a ‘Renaissance Marketer’ because of the benefit he experienced when integrating various disciplines. Throughout his career, he worked across various cultures (US and Chinese), various industries (Tech and Automotive), and functions (marketing, operations, and service), thus acting as the bridge between groups. Currently, as the Director of Product Marketing and Go to Market at Faraday Future, Scott is focused on launching innovative experiences for the future of mobility. In particular, he’s focused on launching their first flagship vehicle FF 91, working with sales, marketing and product teams. Scott leverages his Renaissance Marketer skillsets by leveraging his experience with consumer electronics and cars, he was able to inspire his team to build experiences that explored the mind in connections to the car.

Advice and tips:

  • Make sure to expose yourself to as many dimensions of life as possible. Learn the lingo of different areas and be a “translator of life”  and you will be surprised what doors will open for you
  • When you are working with other departments, bring your holistic thinking approach and align on common objectives. Break down strategy into action plans. Build organizations that thrive in teamwork across functions and foster culture of cross functional synergies. Afterall, other departments are not your enemies, you are in one team that is ultimately going to compete with others for the wallet of your customer.
  • Remember, know your strength and continue to build them. But don’t neglect your blind spots. No one knows everything, but everyone can benefit from knowing one more thing.
